Peak Performance

Peak Performance — “Get Your Head in the Game”

Step up your performance without drugs. We offer a number of techniques to help you reach your peak performance. Performance is more than just a physical act. Performance requires harmony between the mind and body. At the Wyatt Group, we help you exercise the mind so that you can achieve a mind-body harmony. Peak performance training applies to sports, academics, work and other daily tasks. By achieving a state of “calm” and “readiness,” you develop the ability to react to the ordinary stresses of life or when necessary the extreme stresses in sports, academic or work performance.

Some of the instruments used at the Wyatt Group are:

Makoto®: Interaction of mind and body –this instrument is uses sensory integration therapy to tune gross motor skills in association with mental acuity (neurology) to reach peak performance. Makoto “increases the neurological connections between the brain and the body resulting in improved mental acuity, cognitive ability, reaction time and overall better coordination and performance.” Makoto is used by professional sports teams in Denver, St. Louis and Pittsburgh and by coaches and rehab specialist across the country.

Makoto® is a fitness game, but for mental training. It gives “players” a great cardio workout, but the primary health benefit of makoto is the improvement of the neurological link between the brain and body. By improving communication between the brain and body, drastic improvements can be achieved in:

  • eye-hand coordination
  • focus and concentration
  • quickness and reaction time
  • mental acuity
  • stress reduction
  • “1st step” speed and much more!

Makoto is used by professional and collegiate sports teams, health clubs, chiropractors, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, schools, martial arts studios, education institutions and community centers for: competitive athletes, students w/ ADHD, people with depression, those with memory concerns, neurological rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation and many others…

Young adults and kids enjoy makoto for its virtual reality qualities; it’s lights, sounds and computerized live action competitive play. Seniors enjoy makoto for its variety of low impact workouts to keep the mind and body in shape. Athletes enjoy the makoto for its relentless, high speed presentation of targets, improving reaction time, quick pattern recognition, mental clarity concentration and spontaneity of action. Human performance and cross-training are only a few of the benefits of makoto.

Freeze-Framer®: This instrument helps the participant reach a state of calm or relaxation and was “designed to prevent, manage and reverse the negative effects of stress, and to enable users to learn how to operate their mind-body-heart as a unified system, achieving new levels of health and well-being.” By learning how to reach a state of calm, a person can relax under stress by finding that place of calm “as needed.”

Neurofeedback (from BrainMaster and Neurocybernetics): Effectively, these instruments allow one to train the brain through exercises monitoring of EEG brain waves. Again, the goal is to achieve a state of focus and attention — mind clearing so that during a act of stress, the brain reacts naturally instead of being thrown into chaos — ergo, peak performance. The goal of neurofeedback is to achieve an appropriate state at the appropriate time, and to recognize that state and know how to get there on demand.

Interactive Metronome®: This instrument focuses on fine motor skills training in association with mental acuity with focus on attention and concentration, coordination, balance, motor planning and sequencing, language processing, control of impulsivity, and sensory integration. Often used with children and teens with ADD/ADHD; language deficits (poor listening comprehension, poor verbal expression, poor reading comprehension); poor organizational skills, and poor memory. Other therapeutic applications to neurological and motor deficiencies with victims of stroke, brain injury, amputation, Parkinson’s, etc.

Interactive Metronome® is a revolution in developmental training and rehabilitation. IM is a brain-based assessment and training program developed to directly improve the processing abilities that affect attention, motor planning and sequencing. This, in turn, strengthens motor skills, including mobility and gross motor function and many fundamental cognitive capacities such as planning, organizing and language — leading to peak performance.

The IM program provides a structured, goal-oriented training process that challenges the patient to precisely match a computer generated beat. Participants are instructed to synchronize various hand and foot exercises to a reference tone heard through head-phones. Gains in motor planning, rhythmicity, timing and sequencing lead to improvements in attention and concentration, language processing, behavior, fine/gross motor skills, balance and gait, strength and endurance, coordination and motor skills.

Individuals with motor planning and sequencing problems, speech and language delays, motor and sensory disorders, learning deficits and various cognitive and physical difficulties may benefit from the IM program. IM is for everyone, but can also benefit those with special needs, such as:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Sensory Integration Disorder
  • Asberger Syndrome
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Cerebral Vascular Accident
  • Developmental Disorders

Journey to Wild Divine: Teaches techniques, like the heart breath, an ancient yogic breathing technique that will help you achieve control over your mind & body to help reduce stress and improve physical and mental wellness.

Alpha Stim®. This device uses a unique waveform in its microcurrent and cranial electrotherapy stimulation (brain training), which is applicable to treatment of anxiety, depression, insomnia and other stress-related disorders. It is also used for pain management. Treatment of the brain for these symptoms leads to peak performance.
